Hello my lovely friends! I hope you are having a beautiful weekend. Welcome to the monthly favourites blog post. Every month I will tell you about different stuff which I find to be beneficial, interesting or even entertaining. April has definitely been a wonderful month for me. I celebrated my birthday, focused more on enhancing my blog and I started taking better care of my wellbeing on a physical and emotional level. It is really important for us to slow down, reflect on our lives, make little improvements and cultivate awareness on how we can live better, happier and more fulfilling lives. I will leave you now with April favourites and hope that you will start a new month with more determination, energy and the will to invest more time into enhancing your life… Remember that “every little helps.”
Micellar Cleansing Water is an on-the-go beauty lifesaver, which every lady must use as part of her daily skin care routine. It is a skin care product which removes impurities and makeup in one swipe with a cotton pad. The plus point is that you don’t need to rinse it off. Use it on your face, eyes and even lips. It is very gentle on the skin, cleansing it efficiently without any harsh chemicals. The result is fresh, nourished and soft skin. It instantly leaves my skin feeling refreshed. I highly recommend you use the magical Micellar Water. There are several brands out there to choose from. Nuxe Micellar Water with Rose Petals is super-nourishing and smells lovely. It might be considered a bit expensive for some, but it’s a 200 ml bottle and the rose petals is a lovely addition to the 3-in-1 effective cleansing water. Bioderma White Objective H2O Micellar Solution is great for its anti-spot and pigmentation prevention action. It gives the skin a bright and luminous look. It’s affordable and can be found in most drugstores. Eucerin DermatoCLEAN is my favourite. I use it day and night on my skin. It’s mild and moisturising due to the hyaluronic acid. It’s very affordable and lasts for a while. What are you waiting for? Hit the beauty counter and get yours.
CUP O’COFFEE FACE AND BODY MASK
I absolutely love the amazing aromas coming right out of a LUSH store every time I pass by the door. It’s almost impossible to avoid stepping inside that haven to try a few products. As soon as I opened the black tub of the CUP O’COFFEE EXFOLIATING MASK I was astounded with the lovely aroma that invaded my nostrils. It really “wakes you up” like a cup of coffee! It smells divine and exfoliates the skin leaving it smooth and invigorated. The ground coffee granules act as a natural exfoliator. Smooth a generous amount of the mask on you face and body, leave it for 15 minutes and then rinse it off with warm water.
I love quotes in general, but this one from Jim Rohn stayed with me for a while now. The quote says it all. Having gone through some hardships, loss, rejections and long periods of uncertainty, I realised that I tend to use my defense mechanisms which are my strength and patience. I can be really tough and patient to the point that I build walls all around me to keep any harm or sadness from reaching me. I rarely allowed myself to feel vulnerable and as a result I felt burdened. Life is a series of joy and sadness, ups and downs. Once we learn to embrace that fact everything becomes much easier. I now allow myself to feel exactly the way I need to feel without judging myself and without being too guarded. Joy surrounds us… It’s mandatory that we go through pain to appreciate happiness and joy. We must open ourselves up to everything, instead of hiding behind walls. That’s what I do now.
If you love London as much as I do, then you’ll surely understand why this song is amongst my list of favourites. I played it almost every single day during April. It just puts me in a very good mood.
Elizabeth Gilbert (or shall I say ‘Liz’ instead?) is one of my ultimate favourite authors. Her mega best-selling and widely known book ‘Eat, Pray, Love’ is amongst the books I’ve read over and over again. Gilbert writes for the soul and deeply touches the reader with her experiences and profound writing. I can say that her books changed my life and helped me get right back on track. Big Magic is a wonderful book that my sister bought for me. I can’t thank you enough, sis! I’ve only started reading it recently and haven’t finished it yet. It’s on my list because it’s a great page-turner. The book addresses creativity, finding our passion, overcoming fear and pursuing what we love the most. So far, I’m loving the simplistic, to-the-point and “lack of frills” approach in Big Magic. Gilbert is very straightforward and is taking me, as a reader, on a soulful and self-indulgent journey. I highly recommend Big Magic… It’s a book for individuals from all walks of life. Get a copy asap because it’s about time that we start tackling what we love most.
Thank you for reading and have a beautiful May!
