Happy Sunday, everyone. I hope you are all doing well and having a lovely evening. July is here and it’s time for me to share with you my favourite things during June. Apologies for being a bit late. June was somewhat slow-progressing, yet filled with lots of travel planning, cooking and reading. I have got exciting posts coming up over the next few days and for the next couple of weeks. Stay tuned and check out Schön Living new instagram account (@schonliving) for more interesting photos.
Now, without further ado, enjoy June’s Favourites and don’t forget to leave me your comments as I’d love to hear from you.
Will Journey (when it launches soon) will basically create travel itineraries. The instagram account is just perfect for avid travelers. Hopefully when the full site launches soon, it will be my go-to website for travel itineraries. Personally, I absolutely enjoy researching for my own travel itinerary with all the planning and effort that goes into it, however, I think I’ll love having a ready-made itinerary to just go out there and explore. Can’t wait for the launch.
I am very interested in the circadian rhythm (aka. the biological clock) and sleep research. Accumulating evidence has revealed that the circadian rhythm plays a key role in determining and regulating feeding and sleeping patterns in human beings. In recent years, evidence has emerged suggesting that lack of sleep, exposure to artificial light (i.e. the use of mobile phones and other electrical gadgets) and shift work cause disruption of the circadian rhythm. The modern lifestyle that we lead can alter that circadian regulatory pathways. Several studies reported that disruption of the circadian rhythm increased the risk of obesity and the development of chronic diseases such as diabetes and cardiovascular diseases (CVDs).
Getting a good night sleep is therefore very crucial to our health on both short and long terms. I came across a useful article on MYDOMAINE.COM that easily tell us what to avoid doing in order to enhance our bedtime habits.

FAVOURITE BEAUTY PRODUCTS
& OTHER STORIES – Arabesque Wood Eau de Toilette Fragrance (£26) and Botanic Whisper Mini Body Mist (£5) have been two of my favourite products recently. The Arabesque wood fragrance is citrusy with a deep earthy oud smell. It’s perfect in the evening and it lasts for a long time. The Botanic Whisper Body Mist is fresh and ideal after a cold morning shower. The mini bottle means that I get to take it with me when I travel. Perfect size and amazing during the summer.
NUDE MAGIQUE BB CREAM from L’OREAL PARIS is my go-to, daily use beauty product. I love BB creams in general because they’re lightweight, moisturizing, blend well and provide flawless coverage. What makes Nude Magique BB Cream special is that it’s self-adjusting to the skin tone. Personally speaking, I have a natural olive/tan skin tone and I bought the medium cream. I read a few reviews saying that the product looked orange when applied or doesn’t look good on the skin. It hides away blemishes on my skin and provide a fresh, dewy look. Love It!
FAVOURITE TV SHOW
Under The Dome is based on Stephen King’s bestselling novel about Chester’s Mill; a small town that suddenly and without any explanation gets cut off from the rest of the world by a giant and transparent dome. The show follows the life of the residents as they try to overcome their fear, find answers about the dome and how to escape it. I found the show very gripping, exciting and it literally left me on the edge of my seat. There were some parts involving way too much sci-fi details for my liking, but leading characters Dale Barbara (aka Barbie) played by Mike Vogel, and Julia Shumway played by Rachelle Lefevre made it all worthwhile. They were amazing together in the show. Watch and see for yourself. Note Rachelle Lefevre’s luscious, wavy/curly red hair. Every woman’s dream hair!
I’m feeling very positive and excited for all that’s yet to come in July and this side of the summer. I’m planning to travel on a trip soon and I will definitely be posting about much more exciting topics, places and destinations. Stay tuned!
With love as always,
